The visitor centre for the River Wey and Godalming Navigations, one of the earliest canalised rivers in England, on a wharf behind Surrey County Cricket Ground in Guildford. Displays tell the story of the waterway and its boatmen, and electric boat trips leave from here.

Highlights

  • Electric boat trips along the Wey
  • Visitor centre on the navigations and the people who worked them
  • Tea room by the water with a children's play area in its garden
  • The Book Shed second-hand bookshop and volunteer-grown plant sales

Good to know

  • Dogs on leads are welcome at the wharf and in the tea room, but not on boat trips or in the play area
  • You can buy a licence to paddle your own canoe, kayak or paddleboard on the river
  • Walks along the towpath reach Guildford town centre
